Investing is not Gambling, if you invest Right

Many people have told me and I'm sure you must also have heard that "Investing is Gambling." Now, I'm not going to tell you they are wrong. They are right investing is gambling for them because they are not investing right.

In reality these kind of people are not investors at all, they are speculators. They speculate, that's the reason they feel that investing is gambling.

I feel sorry because more than 95% of the people who invest in the market are speculators and we people follow them blindly, taking advice from them, doing whatever they do and following them.

In the end, we loose money and we believe that "Investing is gambling." We are the losers in the end. But you cannot say investing is gambling or bad or anything, don't blame investing for your mistakes because you were not investing at all. You were speculating. Its your speculative nature that has caused you money, not investing.

Investing is total numbers game, profit-loss, asset-liability, price-earning ratio etc. Now, you will be saying that it is the game of emotion also. Yeah, yeah it is a game of emotions also but in a short run. That is what makes it speculative. But if you invest for long run (long-term), it always end up being numbers game. Numbers speak louder than the emotions.

Surely the market will fluctuate in between it will go up, it will go down as well. But if your numbers are right, in the end you will win. I'm not telling you in this post how to select right numbers, because there are too many ways in which you can select a stock and many of them are wrong. Just make sure they are not speculations. I will surely be taking about this in my other posts.

Invest in a long run so that investing does not become gambling for you and make sure your numbers are right. If you believe your numbers are right, so stand by your numbers, even if the market tells you otherwise. If you do not believe in your numbers, do not invest at all. You will surely loose if you do not believe in your numbers, in yourself. But remember do not gamble.

So, in the end I will only say these two words "INVEST RIGHT." Thank you for reading this post.

  1. CLSA also said reduction in auto fuel taxes will impact central government's revenues by 16 bps of the Gross Domestic Product on an annualised basis and that it highlights the government's political compulsions.
